LETTER FROM THE VP OF RECRUITMENT

The summer before I started my education at the University of Manitoba was the first time I heard about Greek Life on campus. I always knew other universities had them, but once I knew that the UofM had a Greek community I wanted to learn more! After meeting with the Vice President of Membership Recruitment and learned so much about Alpha Phi, I knew it was the place for me! Joining this sorority was the best decision I have made about my university experience!

Going through the transition from high school to university, there was little guidance to prepare you for what to expect. When everyone I knew were going to different schools or had the complete opposite schedule as myself, I knew I wanted to join a group where I would always have someone to hang out with and that could give me that sense of belonging! Alpha Phi has given me that ever since I walked through the door of the first recruitment event I attended!

Alpha Phi has encouraged me to become the best version of myself and I continue to grow every day as an Alpha Phi member! I have been given the opportunity to engage more in our community, test my leadership skills, and build my academic profile - all while gaining so many amazing memories and friendships that will last a lifetime time!

I know going through the recruitment process can seem a little scary, but we are all here every step of this process and can help guide you. Recruitment is a time for you to meet and connect with the members of our sorority, whether it’s through coffee dates or recruitment events- what ever feels the most comfortable for you. Going through the process will allow you to have a glimpse of what our sisterhoods are like, our values, and our philanthropy.

I encourage anyone considering going through recruitment to go on that coffee date or walk through that door for an event! I found my forever home in Alpha Phi, and I know so many more young women can also find their home in Greek Life!
